THE GODFATHER PART II (1974) – Original Spanish Half Sheet Poster (70x50 cm)

Rare original Spanish-language half sheet poster for Francis Ford Coppola’s The Godfather Part II (El Padrino: 2ª Parte), printed in Spain for the film’s first theatrical release in 1974. This dramatic black-and-white design features stark typographic layout, the iconic puppet-hand logo, and a shadowy full-body illustration of Michael Corleone—symbolizing the cold consolidation of power at the heart of the Corleone saga.

The poster prominently notes the film’s six Academy Awards, including Best Picture, reinforcing its cinematic legacy. This Spanish-market version is highly scarce, especially in this half sheet format (70 x 50 cm), making it a true collector’s piece.

Condition:

This is a theater-used, folded poster, consistent with original distribution practices in the 1970s. It shows visible wear, including:

• Edge wear and tears (particularly lower left and right corners)

• Central vertical and horizontal fold separation with paper splitting

• Some paper loss at fold intersections

• Age toning and surface wrinkling

• Back of poster has handwritten marks and signs of tape remova

Despite the wear, the print remains bold and complete, with strong display presence. It would benefit from linen backing for preservation and restoration.
