This is the original Spanish-language theatrical release poster for The Spirit of St. Louis (1957), printed for the Mexican market. The film stars James Stewart as Charles A. Lindbergh in a biographical portrayal of the aviator’s historic solo flight across the Atlantic. The poster adopts the translated title El Águila Solitaria (“The Lone Eagle”) and features a collage of photographic stills and full-color artwork with large typography promoting Stewart’s lead performance. A striking vertical layout, bold red and black title treatment, and localized slogan give it strong international collector appeal. It was produced during the Golden Age of Hollywood’s influence in Latin America and represents a classic example of imported studio artwork adapted for regional audiences.

Condition:

Good to Fair vintage condition overall. The poster is folded as issued, with visible wear at the folds including minor separations, edge tears, foxing, and discoloration throughout. There is handwriting and ink stamps on the verso, consistent with theater archival markings. There are small pinholes and edge dings visible, particularly in corners and fold intersections. Some paper loss at the bottom center fold. No restoration appears to have been attempted.

Spanish-language one sheets from the 1950s are increasingly scarce, particularly for high-profile Hollywood titles with prestige directors like Billy Wilder and major stars like James Stewart. The localized artwork and title variation (El Águila Solitaria) make this desirable among bilingual collectors, aviation history enthusiasts, and fans of classic Hollywood biopics.
