What is a lobby card? As their name suggests, lobby cards were typically located in the lobby of a movie theatre. Their purpose was to highlight the key plot elements of a movie and showcase its stars via a series of stills. Lobby cards are usually 11 in × 14 in (28 cm × 36 cm), also 8 in × 10 in (20 cm × 25 cm) before 1930. Lobby cards are collectible and values depend on their age, quality, and popularity.
